EA Results (EARS) User Guide

EARS Purpose

The purpose of EARS is to bring credibility to account statements from MT4.  EARS provides an auditing service by allowing users to upload their MT4 account statements automatically.  Statements are parsed by EARS database and verified as true and accurate. 

When we say 'auditing' that means technical audit, not an accounting audit.  EARS provides a free database and verifies that account statements are generated in real-time, and that they are not 'faked'.  EARS does not provide any CPA or forensic accounting services.  This can be provided using EARS account statements from registered CPAs and Accounting firms, and EARS can work with authorities and brokers on behalf of the trader/developer (for a fee). 

Trading and EAR

EA Results will not affect trading.  Continue trading as normal.  Currently it is not required that an Expert Advisor is used, EA Results could be used to audit manual track records, however we encourage you to automate your system if it is not currently automated.  Publisher must be enabled (ticked).  Passive mode should be left unchecked.  Any MT Broker Terminal should work. 

Account Statement Handling

Make sure to select 'all history' when displaying your account statement in the MT Terminal.  It is possible to select 'custom period' and display only recent or selected historical parts of the account statement in the past, however if you do this it will need to be explained.  For example, you may have traded an account manually for 2 years, then EA trading began and you only want to display results from the EA.  However, in either case, real-time account statements will be updated and logged in the system.  In other words, choosing what results to display from an account statement only works historically, not live.  Percentage calculations in regard to ranking in the database are done in real time only.  This gives an accurate, updated impression of how the system is doing, in addition to any historical performance that existed before uploading to EA Results.com.  Remember, it is possible to open multiple accounts, but the longer and more robust the track record, the better it looks.

Account number security

The account number must be entered in FTP feature to work properly.  If a new account statement with a different account number is uploaded, it will not accept.  So, if you want to restart your track record, please sign up for a new account.  There is no limit to the number of accounts you can sign up for.  If using multiple systems, running in multiple MT terminals, sign up for each account individually. 

Confidentiality

All contact information is kept private and confidential unless users give EA Results the explicit permission to distribute it.  EA Results will not share any confidential info, other than what is displayed publicly on the site (system related info).

Displaying of System Info on EAR

EA Results displays percentages since the date signing on for EA Results only.  From then on, % performance is calculated weekly, monthly, and max (since uploading statement to EARS). 

Creation of MT Demo Accounts

If possible, do not create a demo with zero deposit.  Ideally, deposit $100,000 in the account.  100k is the standard FX lot size, so this is an ideal account size.  Accounts will be calculated using percentages, but if setting up a new demo account $100k USD should be used.  All new demo accounts should be setup using MT's official demo, not using specific broker demos.  This is because brokers may have trading restrictions and other nuances that may affect performance of any EA or manual trading, live or demo.  MT's demo can be downloaded here: http://www.metaquotes.net/downloads

For Clients

If you want to trade any system on this site, EARS can contact the trader on your behalf, however, there is no guarantee that you can trade the system.  Developer info is kept confidential and they will contact you only upon their consent.  Systems on this site are not for sale, EARS is an independent auditing service only.  Clients can subscribe to the EARS newsletter to be kept informed of systems made available by the developers for use.  If offered, it is the sole discretion of the developer how that system will be traded, either in a managed environment or directly as an EA.  EARS does not promote any particular system or it's own system.

EA Results is verifying system's account statements through a proprietary database technology, EAR cannot guarantee that the manager will use the same system on any allocated account as it is impossible for us to audit such procedures. For a fee, EAR can audit the track record of the system in question, however there is no guarantee it will be the same strategy used on a new account or that it will perform.
